Privacy policy

Last updated 4 September 2026. Applies to the Vozeru Android app (com.vozeru.app) and this website.

The short version

Vozeru runs entirely on your phone. We have no server that receives your text, your recordings, your voices or your results. We have no account system, no analytics and no advertising. The app talks to exactly two outside services: Hugging Face, to download models, and Google Play, to sell Premium. Neither of those tells us who you are.

1. Who we are

Vozeru is published by Vozeru, based in the Netherlands. For anything in this policy, write to vozeru@vitefait.nl. Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, Vozeru is the controller for the website. For what the app processes on your phone, you are, and we never see it.

2. What the app handles, and where it stays

Everything below is stored only on your device, in a folder you can open with any file manager: Android/media/com.vozeru.app. It never reaches us.

DataWhy the app has itWhere it goes
Text you typeTo turn it into speechProcessed in memory; the spoken result is saved as a file on the phone
Audio you record or pickTo convert it into another voiceA copy in the app's in folder on the phone, and the converted result in its out folder
Voice models you install or importTo convert audio into that voiceThe app's voices folder on the phone
Settings and daily countersTo remember your choices and the free tier's daily limitsA small settings file on the phone
A Premium entitlementTo unlock Premium without asking Google every timeA flag on the phone, confirmed by Google Play Billing

Uninstalling the app removes that folder. Anything you exported to Download/Vozeru is yours and stays until you delete it.

3. Network traffic

Hugging Face

Speech models, conversion models and catalogue voices are downloaded from public repositories on huggingface.co. Like any web request, that download shows Hugging Face your IP address and the file you asked for. Hugging Face's privacy policy covers what they do with that. The catalogue itself is compiled into the app, so searching it sends nothing.

Google Play

Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment and your Google account; we never receive your name, address or card details. On the phone, the app keeps only a confirmation that Premium is active. Google's privacy policy covers the purchase.

Nothing else

The app makes no other connections. There is no crash reporter, no usage statistics, no advertising SDK, and no Vozeru server.

4. Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhat it is for
MicrophoneRecording your own voice on the Audio tab. Only while you hold the record button; nothing is recorded in the background.
InternetDownloading models and voices, and Google Play Billing.
NotificationsTelling you a long conversion has finished while the app is in the background. Asked for once; say no and the app simply does not notify.
Ignore battery optimisationsLetting a conversion or a music-mode job finish after you switch apps. Android would otherwise stop it. Optional.
Modify audio settingsRequired by the Android recording API alongside the microphone. The app changes no audio setting.

5. Other people's voices

A voice you convert audio into may belong to a real person. If it does, that is personal data of theirs, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to use it, consent being the usual one. We do not see what you make. The terms of use set out what is allowed, and the takedown page is how a person gets a voice removed from the catalogue.

6. This website

The website is static files served by nginx. The server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, requested page, browser string) for up to 14 days to keep the site running and to spot abuse, then discards them. There are no cookies, no analytics and no embedded third-party content. The takedown form does not submit to us: it opens your own mail app with the request written out, so what you send is an email from you to us.

7. Email

If you write to us, we keep the email for as long as it takes to deal with it and for a reasonable time after, so we can refer back to it. Takedown requests are kept for as long as the removal stands, because they are the reason it stands.

8. Children

Vozeru is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age. The app does not need to.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, and complain to a supervisory authority, in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. In practice the only personal data we ever hold is email you sent us and short-lived web server logs. Write to vozeru@vitefait.nl and we will answer within a month.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the app's About screen links to the current version. A change that meant the app started sending data anywhere would be announced in the app before it took effect, not slipped into this page.
